discovering ourselves ( Chapter 8 )

A life time job! an endless lesson for each one of us, almost ironic since we know that when we start to discover who we are, in that exact moment we are changing, evolving, moving, transforming, reprograming ourselves, many times by force, few times by choice, who we are is a hard question to answer, even what do we want? it changes or could change overnight, who we are according our situations, education, places, culture, or even depending of the moment we live in, all of us have different reactions in every situation, and that is also who we are, but then, in one reaction that maybe lead us to failure we could find a lesson and there comes another change, because we saw it didnt worked the way we tried, so this time if we want a different result, we must have a different attitude, again, a new us will be appearing in this chapter of our lives, yet, we wouldnt know and there is no way to know if we will continue being that way or if the next challenge will force us to change again and again, not even conscious about it, just to survive, we will do it as many times as it is required, if we dont, then we will be stuck in life, forever, and is not something we want to experience, at least is not my expectation. I truly believe there is an insane need to tag or be tagged As this or that, so when people ask us who we are, we will automatically put a list of what we do, what do we like, and give all kind of excuses or reasons to explain to whom doesnt know us who we are, meanwhile, deep inside, in the most profound inner soul of us, we are not even sure about it, it seems enough for us to be explaining to others, to convince others, of something we are not sure about but sounds good saying it out loud, of course, if someone ask or shows interest in who we are, and we decide to say " I dont know, i keep changing " wouldnt be so easy for the other person to get info of us and from us, again, we cant say who we are in few words, how can we even try right? it makes no sense if we think about it, like, how? we didnt even live enough, learn enough, fail enough, succeed enough, change enough, to at least say ok this is who i am, even though we could, the who i am today, can be different tomorrow, because we cant live in the future, and as we know, many new experiences will give form and shape to the description of " Who i am " Im glad i said it is an endless lesson for us, because it is. The bad habit to introduce ourselves trying to give to others a cheap and fast resume is not who we are, every person coming into our lives should take enough time to be with us, discover us, and still, it wont be enough, since their perspective of us will define us in their minds, and even so, we wont be who they think we are. To me this is not to explain how to explain, is not to do that, is the reverse, this what i am trying to express, shows my feelings about the bad habit of explaining, listing, excusing, who we are, it is a waste of energy and words, because later in life we discovered that same energy people get each others even without words, we feel it, we can see through where words are not needed, it is a red light or a green light for us, the inner voice will always guide us if we pay enough attention to it, therefore, whoever that wants, really wants to know who we are, should not try to define us, but accept our essence, and be commited to accept to grow beside us knowing there will be a constant evolution, accepting they want to take this challenge of, i will continue getting to know you, and vice versa. Whoever that can find it as a normal life experience, as a magic way of enjoying another person without trying to define or put that human being in a box, i think that would be the most peaceful and powerful relationship, friendship someone could have, the FREEDOM to be who we are, and not to be the expectations of others.
